Deep Waters

ree
Luke 5:4 (NIV84): 4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

Simon was a professional fisherman. He knew what he was doing. But Jesus wanted to take him to the next level.

On the surface this is a story about fishing. But with God it's never about the surface but about the heart. He desires to accelerate our growth so that we come to a place of understanding his power and his wisdom. It requires us to not be able to see how everything is going to work out. It requires trusting him.

His wisdom is not like our wisdom and his power is not like our power!

Simon would have to allow Jesus to direct him out to the deep waters! This is a dangerous place where Simon would not be able to see everything going on under the surface.

If you are on my website and in the midst of divorce maybe you cannot see to the bottom. Fear can take over in the deep waters. There's so much unknown!

But it can also be the best fishing! There are a lot of big fish out in the deep water!

It is also true in the process of your divorce. This can be the worst season of your life or it can be just one painful chapter that produces big fish for the rest of your life.

I would love the opportunity to help this experience become something great in your life rather than a defining moment of hopeless misery that turns into bitterness.

I look forward to meeting you. Let me know when you're ready to put out into deep waters.
